Google's Sergey Brin Asks Workers to Spend More Time In the Office
Briefly

In response to the competitive landscape following the launch of ChatGPT, Google has reinforced its ambition to lead in artificial general intelligence (AGI). Co-founder Sergey Brin has urged employees to increase their in-office presence to at least five days a week and to aim for around 60 hours of work each week to enhance productivity. While this memo does not change Google’s existing three-days-a-week return-to-office policy, Brin believes that with focused efforts, Google has the potential to be at the forefront of achieving AGI.
'The final race to A.G.I. is afoot,' he wrote. 'I think we have all the ingredients to win this race, but we are going to have to turbocharge our efforts.'
Brin highlighted that achieving A.G.I. is within reach, emphasizing a need for increased productivity from employees, suggesting that 60 hours a week is optimal.
