Generative AI's dehumanization problem

For hundreds and thousands, job losses and redundancies caused by the adoption of this technology by businesses are lived reality (but, long term, according to one Goldman Sachs report, productivity gains will create growth that will offset these losses). Finally, artists, academics and other intellectual property creators claim that the technology encourages plagiarism and devalues the integrity of research methods (hallucinations in this technology can lead to incorrect search results; an example being t he invention of legal citations).
Some experts claim that the technology could lead to the mass extinction of the human race. It is certainly not all doom and gloom. If gigantic AI investment wasn't buoying the American economy, the tent-pole of the global trading system, one wonders what the headline statistical figures would look like.
