BYD has launched its advanced driver-assistance system, 'God's Eye', offering three tiers of technology across various price points. This system, branded in an ambitious manner, will come standard in 21 of BYD's 30 electric vehicle models. This move aims to bolster BYD's competitive edge in the rapidly evolving Chinese EV market, where it has already surpassed Tesla in market share. However, the name 'God's Eye' has been critiqued for its misleading implications, similar to Tesla's Full Self-Driving capabilities. BYD's CEO expressed goals of making advanced driving tech as fundamental as safety features like seat belts.
AS I mentioned during the launch event for God's Eye, autonomous driving will eventually be as common as seat belts and airbags. This is what we aim to achieve.
The inclusion of God's Eye as standard across a significant number of our models will enhance driver safety and offer high-tech features that previously were luxury add-ons.
