AWS CEO Matt Garman emphasized that when you implement one of these automated reasoning checks, Bedrock can actually check the factual statements made by models are accurate. This is grounded in sound mathematical verifications, showing how conclusions were reached.
Peter van der Putten, head of the AI lab at Pegasystems, commented on the new feature as interesting and original, but cautioned it shouldn’t be viewed as a silver bullet for hallucinations.
Garman noted that AWS has been employing automated reasoning internally for various applications like identity and access management (IAM) and S3 services, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to accuracy.
The Automated Reasoning checks are more of an additional measure that could serve as extra guardrails in particular use cases which utilize rule-based policies and guidelines, rather than a catch-all solution.
