Anima Anandkumar, a professor at the California Institute of Technology, employs AI technology, particularly neural operators, to advance prediction models for weather forecasting and nuclear fusion simulations. In her acceptance speech for the TIME100 AI Impact Award, she credited her engineer parents as pivotal role models. Her innovative work resulted in the development of FourCastNet, an AI-based weather model that is significantly faster and more accurate than traditional systems, impressively predicting extreme weather events.
