Amazon recently unveiled Alexa+, an upgraded version of its virtual assistant, capable of more lifelike interactions akin to AI chatbots. This generative AI-enabled assistant will first launch on newer Echo Show models, with broader compatibility across various devices including Fire TV and Echo speakers. CEO Andy Jassy confirmed these new devices will roll out this fall, despite the absence of a scheduled Devices and Services event in 2024. Notably, older devices will not support Alexa+ but will maintain access to the classic Alexa functionalities.
