He acknowledges the challenges of ensuring that the benefits of artificial general intelligence (AGI) reach everyone equally, especially in light of potential job losses. Altman proposes innovative ideas such as distributing 'compute budgets' to individuals globally and reducing the costs associated with AI technology to combat these issues and enhance equal access to economic prosperity.
In particular, it does seem like the balance of power between capital and labor could easily get messed up, and this may require early intervention.
Anyone in 2035 should be able to marshal the intellectual capacity equivalent to everyone in 2025. Everyone should have access to unlimited genius to direct however they can imagine.
