AI comes to Reddit's main search bar - who needs Google now?
Briefly

Reddit is making its platform more user-friendly by integrating the Reddit Answers feature into the main search bar, transitioning from a separate tab. This change aims to enhance how users find curated answers to their queries directly on Reddit, providing links to sources and additional tips from users. According to CEO Steve Huffman, this update should facilitate navigation for new users and those arriving from external searches, ensuring they access real, lived experiences and recommendations from the community instead of generic information.
In the company's first-quarter earnings call, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman stated that the site is "working to integrate Reddit Answers into Reddit's core search experience to further streamline the path from question to answer on Reddit."
Instead of adding 'reddit' to a Google search, you can head straight to Reddit and search. You'll now get a curated response with a list of different answers.
Huffman explained that with Reddit Answers, users are getting lived experience and personal recommendations, making it easier to find authentic opinions.
People come to Reddit with intent; they are not just scrolling but are actively seeking real opinions and insights from the community.
