The ability of AIs to subtly target undecided voters with personalized narratives makes it challenging to detect and regulate their influence, particularly in elections. However, there are also optimistic views regarding AIâs potential to combat misinformation and enhance societal discourse. This study examined persuasion effectiveness among human and AI debaters across various controversial topics, revealing AI's competitive abilities in persuasive discourse.
