"The new, special edition timepiece is called the Amida Digitrend NASA Tribute and is designed to capture the spirit of the era of the Space Shuttle, 'when humanity dared to reach for the stars.'"
"Our inspiration comes from the iconic ceramic tiles covering the space shuttle's exterior, to protect it against the brutal heat of atmospheric reentry."
"The watch features a 40mm black DLC-faceted metallic monobloc case featuring a ceramic top shell, inspired by classic sports cars and modern architecture."
The Amida Digitrend, first launched in 1976, is revived in 2024 as the NASA Tribute mechanical watch to commemorate its 50th anniversary. This special edition features a NASA logo and a unique perpendicular dial for better visibility while driving. Inspired by the Space Shuttle's ceramic tiles, the watch showcases a retro-futuristic design with a vibrant red NASA logotype. It retains the original's jumping hour and trailing minutes aperture, housed in a durable 40mm black DLC-faceted case, powered by a Soprod Newton P092 automatic caliber with a 44-hour power reserve.
