Apple's AI features on by default in iOS 18.3 - but you can opt out
Briefly

With the upcoming release of iOS/iPadOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3, Apple will enable its AI feature, Apple Intelligence, by default for all new and upgrading users. This automatic activation simplifies access to AI capabilities but necessitates manual deactivation for users who prefer not to use it. The updated systems are set to roll out soon and support eligible devices, including the latest iPhones and Macs with M1 chips or newer. Users will also see improved transparency regarding AI-generated content in future updates.
Apple Intelligence will now be enabled by default for new and upgrading users, requiring manual opt-out for those who do not wish to use it.
Eligible devices for Apple Intelligence include iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Pro models, M1 chip iPads, and Macs, enabling most recent models to harness AI features.
