Apple has decided to suspend its artificial intelligence feature that inaccurately summarized news alerts following a complaint from the BBC about false notifications.
The AI-generated alerts incorrectly claimed significant news events, such as the wrongful attribution of a news story involving the alleged suicide of Luigi Mangione.
Other inaccurate alerts included announcing a darts final winner before the match occurred and falsely suggesting that Rafael Nadal publicly came out as gay.
In response to these incidents and the concerns voiced by media professionals, Apple is dedicated to refining its AI algorithms to prevent misinformation.
