VTA Says It Has Three Labor Agreements in Hand, One to Go
Briefly

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) has successfully reached agreements with three of its four labor unions, covering 28% of its workforce. These agreements, which include a wage increase and enhanced benefits, will be presented for board approval on May 1. Negotiations with the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 265 are ongoing. San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan expressed gratitude for the newfound agreements, highlighting their importance to VTA's success and the riders dependent on the service, while remaining hopeful for a resolution with ATU that benefits all employees.
With these three contracts now resolved, VTA hopes to bring 1,500 frontline employees represented by ATU Local 265 to the same resolution soon.
I'm thankful to the members of AFSCME, SEIU and TAEA for approving fair contracts that reflect our shared commitment to VTA's long-term success.
