The recall for certain Macan Electric models is due to a software-related issue where headlamps are too bright, risking visibility for incoming drivers.
Porsche's Macan Electric was programmed to European specs, causing compliance issues with U.S. regulations. The fix requires a service visit, not an over-the-air update.
In total, 2,941 Macan Electric models built between March and November 2024 are affected. Models built after November 18 were shipped with corrected software.
Porsche will notify owners of the recall on January 24, 2025, and the fix will be provided free of charge at authorized service centers.
