Suspect charged in connection with Tesla New Mexico arson
Briefly

Authorities in New Mexico have arrested Jamison Wagner, a 40-year-old resident, for firebombing attempts on a Tesla store and a Republican Party office. The U.S. Attorney General announced plans to pursue up to 40 years in prison for Wagner, emphasizing the need for strict consequences given the severity of the vandalism, which included attacking Tesla vehicles and drawing offensive graffiti. The FBI has stated that the arrest may have prevented further arson attempts, as evidence from the crime scene was instrumental in the investigation.
"We have made an arrest in connection to the February firebombing of a New Mexico Tesla dealership and the March attack on the New Mexico Republican Party Headquarters," Bondi wrote.
"Evidence recovered at the crime scene suggested that the arrest, made on Saturday, prevented further arson attempts," Patel stated.
The February attack involved two Tesla vehicles that had been set on fire, along with graffiti saying 'Tesla Nazi Inc,' 'Die Elon,' and drawings of swastikas.
Authorities are seeking up to 40 years in prison for the suspect, highlighting the seriousness of these attacks on Tesla and affiliated locations.
