Naples deploys first 22 electric buses (from Higer, Iveco and BYD) out of 253-units procured - Sustainable Bus
Briefly

Naples has officially launched the first 22 battery-electric buses as part of its transition to a zero-emission transport fleet. These vehicles, provided by various manufacturers including Higer and BYD, range from minibuses to standard buses, and will improve local transit options. Funded largely by Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan, this initiative includes plans for a total of 253 electric buses by 2026, reinforcing Naples’ commitment to sustainable transportation while still maintaining a smaller number of diesel and methane-powered vehicles for specific routes.
As part of a broader electrification strategy, Naples' new fleet of 22 battery-electric buses is a significant step forward, supported by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The project's funding of approximately €180 million aims not only for the procurement of 253 electric buses but also for developing the necessary charging infrastructure.
