"It is essential that everyone has the ability to perform their civic duty and cast their ballot," John Andoh, Transit Manager for Link Transit, said. "No one should be denied their right to vote simply because they can't afford a ride. Free public transportation on election day will help by providing access to those who may not have transportation and help ensure that everyone can participate in our democracy."
Link Transit will offer free rides on all routes and services to make participation in the election process easier and more accessible.
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has encouraged public transit agencies across the country to provide ways to improve access to the polls to ensure everyone is able to exercise their rights to democracy.
Those interested in wanting to use Link Transit to the polls can visit the Alamance County Board of Elections website to see where the polling locations are and by using Link Transit's trip planner.
