Flemish public transport company De Lijn has launched its first electric buses from BYD Europe, which began operating from the Mortsel depot on June 23. The initial deployment serves the Antwerp region, with further plans for broader distribution across Flanders. De Lijn ordered a total of 290 electric buses in June, including 140 from BYD, as part of a framework agreement signed earlier this year. This initiative signifies a major step towards sustainable public transportation, as the company aims to deliver 92 BYD units throughout 2025, enhancing service capacity.
We expect the same positive reaction from our travellers to this commissioning as we have for the other introductions of new e-buses.”},{
