BATA was awarded a $795,673 grant from the Michigan Public Service Commission to install over 650 solar panels, aimed at enhancing renewable energy use.
'Thank you to the MPSC for recognizing the importance of BATA's solar project. We're excited to be selected to receive this funding,' said BATA Executive Director Kelly Dunham.
The solar panels are projected to offset nearly all of the facility's daily electrical usage, saving an estimated $63,000 annually in utility costs.
The project will eliminate 260 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to removing 64 vehicles from Michigan’s roadways, significantly contributing to environmental goals.
