Gianfranco Sgro will assume the role of Arriva Group CEO on October 1, 2025, after almost 11 years at Kuehne+Nagel where he serves as Executive Vice President for Contract Logistics and is a Management Board member. The group was sold in 2024 to infrastructure investment manager I Squared. Sgro previously served as Chief Operating Officer for Latin America at Pirelli and held senior leadership roles at Ceva Logistics, including COO for South Europe, Middle East and Africa. He graduated as an electronic engineer from Politecnico di Torino. Arriva leadership emphasized his track record in running complex operational businesses and the role of public transport in decarbonisation and urbanisation, while Sgro highlighted opportunities to work with teams across the UK and Europe to deliver the Group's ambitions.
