The latest wellness trend features 'feminine health juice', made with fruits like cranberries and pineapple, claiming benefits for vaginal health. TikTok creators promote various blends, touting improvements in odor and sexual desire. However, Dr. Sonya Brar, an OB/GYN, cautions against believing in their efficacy, pointing out the high sugar content in juices may lead to yeast overgrowth. She suggests eating whole fruits for fiber and overall health benefits instead of consuming sugary juices straight.
"From a medical perspective, I don't believe these combinations of juices will work 'magic' for vaginal health," Dr. Sonya Brar, an OB/GYN at Mount Sinai, explained.
"Certainly, the fruits themselves contain antioxidants and vitamins, which are important for the body, and of course hydration is key," Dr. Brar added.
