Trump Reverses Course on ICE Raids at Restaurants and Farms
Briefly

ICE officials received instructions to cease operations targeting undocumented workers in sectors like agriculture, hospitality, and restaurants, as per an email from senior ICE official Tatum King. This shift aligns with President Trump’s directive, which expressed concerns from industries that rely heavily on these workers. Although enforcement against serious crimes continues, such as human trafficking, agents were instructed not to arrest non-criminal undocumented individuals. This policy adjustment highlights the reliance on undocumented labor in various sectors and seeks to alleviate worker shortages.
Effective today, please hold on all work site enforcement investigations/operations on agriculture... restaurants and operating hotels... investigations involving human trafficking, money laundering, drug smuggling into these industries are OK.
