At Milan-San Remo, Filippo Ganna finished second but experienced tremendous challenges as he chased after Tadej Pogačar and Mathieu van der Poel. Despite being dropped multiple times by Pogačar's aggressive attacks, Ganna managed to utilize his powerful threshold resistance to catch up. He expressed both satisfaction and exhaustion, sharing that his effort cost him dearly but was worthwhile. Ganna regards this race as one of his finest performances, highlighting the exciting nature of the event and the legendary status of his competitors.
I tried to follow the two gods of cycling. I couldn't do anything more, those two guys have taken several years off my life.
I think this is one of my best-ever performances. But what else can I do? I was up there with the world champion and the former world champion.
Some great riders need 14 years to win Milan-San Remo, I hope that doesn't happen to me, it'd make my career far too long and too hard.
It has been a while since there was a great Milan-San Remo like this one. I think we entertained people.
