Google recently announced that all English-speaking Android users can now access its conversational AI, Gemini Live, for free, as opposed to the previous $20 subscription.
Unlike Apple's Siri, which is set to become smarter with iOS 18, Gemini Live allows users a more flexible conversation, including interruptions and revisiting past discussions.
While ChatGPT's Voice Mode is being rolled out to a limited audience of Plus subscribers, Gemini Live opens up its conversational AI features to a broader audience without a subscription.
Both Gemini Live and OpenAI's Voice Mode are expected to incorporate the phone's camera for contextual responses, although launch dates for this feature are still unclear.
