A male is dead after he suffered a workplace injury in Brampton on Friday evening, police say. The incident happened on Advance Boulevard, near Dixie Road and Highway 407, according to Peel Regional Police. Officers were called to the area at about 6:40 p.m. Police have taped off an area containing a CAA flatbed tow truck and a white cube van after the fatality.
Fire crews at the scene determined a man was stuck in an excavation hole 12 feet down and was trapped by their foot, Toronto Fire told CBC News. They said crews are setting up a trench rescue, which will secure the walls on either side of the person, before they can pull them out.
Police sources say a Con Edison worker was electrocuted in East Flatbush Wednesday. Officers found the 47-year-old man just after 10:30 a.m. near Kings Highway and Avenue D. The FDNY says the man went into cardiac arrest and EMS performed CPR before taking him to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center. He was initially listed in critical condition but is now expected to recover, according to police.
