Isaac Kaufman successfully executed a stunning front flip off the Air Jordan cliff drop at Whistler Blackcomb.
The man was found on the south side of Piccolo Peak at roughly 5,250 feet (1,600 metres) elevation in what Whistler Search and Rescue president Brad Sills described as "steep, challenging terrain beyond the ski area boundary". His death is not considered suspicious.
Violence on the ski mountain is never justified. If there's a serious problem, get ski patrol and let them handle it. But some people are just too entitled and have no sense of self control, ruining the peace that should exist on the resort.
Two guests at Whistler Blackcomb narrowly avoided injury in an inbounds avalanche on February 2. The incident took place in the Saudan Couloir, an 'experts-only' run, on Blackcomb Mountain known for its steep pitch and demanding terrain. This avalanche highlights the persistent risks present in steep, high-alpine terrain even within resort boundaries. At approximately 12:11 p.m., Blackcomb Ski Patrol received a call and responded immediately to the area.
Whistler Blackcomb is a legend of Canadian skiing and snowboarding. It's the largest ski area in North America, features some of the wildest terrain, and has raised some of the best skiers and snowboarders in the world.
