The Wake Forest Demon Deacons (12-9) will look to stop a three-game home losing streak when they host the Virginia Cavaliers (14-6) on January 29, 2026 at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. In its previous game, Wake Forest fell to Virginia Tech on Saturday, 85-57. Grace Oliver scored a team-high 13 points (and chipped in one assist and eight boards). Virginia dropped its most recent game to NC State, 78-76, on Saturday. Kymora Johnson led the way with 26 points, plus three boards and nine assists.

The Royals have hired Mike McFerran as an assistant pitching coach, the club announced. The 32-year-old comes over from the Athletics organization, where he'd spent the past two seasons working with minor league pitchers. McFerran has never previously worked on an MLB staff. His two-year stint with the A's was his first in a professional organization. McFerran had previously worked in the college ranks.
