Gasoline doesn't have a particularly high profit margin, which is partly why most gas stations double as convenience stores or offer fresh food. If chains like Buc-ee's and Sheetz can make more money by selling food, they can afford to lower their margins on gasoline.

The key to getting the most miles out of each gallon is driving efficiently. That means smooth acceleration, soft braking and slowing down. Cars tend to be the most fuel efficient when driven at about 50 miles per hour.
The baseline use of plant-based milk prior to instituting oat milk as the default was 16.6%. That jumped to 51.9% when baristas informed guests oat milk was the default option.
"The people in the market are obviously going to be feeling like everyone else, very concerned," he said, pointing to the cumulative impact of rising business rates, tariffs and supply chain disruption.
"The awesome thing with pulse crops is no nitrogen needs... not having to put any nitrogen on a pulse crop is a great starting point," he says, noting that this allows growers to not only meet PKS requirements but, in some cases, build soil fertility for the rotation.
Bodenheimer said he's adjusting portions, like one less deviled egg per platter, or rearranging the measurements of a batched cocktail. "It's like you're in a recording studio, and you're turning the levels up and down on the master board," he said. Many of Cure's products are imported, from German beer, French cheese and Spanish Marcona almonds, which Bodenheimer refuses to substitute. He said some of the tariff burden is shared between the supplier and importer before it reaches the customer.
Outside, it's an overcast and blustery February day in Kent hardly the ideal conditions for growing tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. Growing fresh produce indoors in the south of England year-round requires plenty of energy to provide light, warmth and carbon dioxide.
