86-year-old underboss of the Colombo Crime Family, Benjamin 'The Claw' Castellazzo, received a 15-month prison sentence instead of the more than two years sought by prosecutors, due to his age and health issues.
Castellazzo's attorneys argued that a longer prison sentence would jeopardize his wellbeing, as his health issues require constant medical care and medication.
Prosecutors argued that Castellazzo's advanced age and health issues have not prevented him from continuing his alleged criminal activities. [ more ]
