Three-quarters of the finalists have come from three of the top-four leagues in the world while 2023-24 champion Olympiacos of Greece and 2021-22 finalist Feyenoord of the Netherlands have also reached competed for the crown.
The draw for the 2025/26 edition of the Conference League will schedule the league phase as teams from across Europe bid to succeed Chelsea as champions. The Blues beat Real Betis 4-1 in the 2024/25 final to become the second Premier League club to win the competition after West Ham in 2022/2023. Olympiacos won the 2023/2024 Conference League and Roma triumphed in the inaugural edition in 2021/22.
Besiktas have sacked former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after they were knocked out of the UEFA Conference League playoffs by Lausanne. Besiktas were beaten 1-0 at home by the INEOS-owned Lausanne on Thursday night, with former Arsenal striker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji scoring the only goal in first-half stoppage-time before Besiktas had Felix Uduokhai sent off early in the second half, giving Lausanne a 2-1 aggregate win.
