The race is a 7.3-kilometer race that combines a downhill component with uphill sprints and an obstacle finish at the end, attracting 555 skiers and snowboarders.

A superpipe is a halfpipe that is about 64 feet wide and typically between 400 and 600 feet long, with walls approximately 22 feet high. The walls of the pipe are near vertical, with a smooth transition that allows riders to carry maximum speed.

By drawing riders from a wide range of backgrounds, NST creates a format that values creativity and individuality as much as technical execution. Its time. After 8 years riding for Pivot Factory Racing the time has come for me to move on. What a ride it's been! Holy shit, I'll never be able to put into words how grateful I am for the opportunities that Pivot and BK have given me. But, It's time for me to hang up the boots after chasing World Cup racing full-time for the last 13 years . My heroes became friends and my friends became heroes. A massive crash on the last jump on the Red Bull Hardline Tasmania track has left Mille Johnset of Nukeproof Axess Racing with a broken collarbone and concussion. The 3rd person view of the crash is shown in this clip posted by Ed Masters. In the clip, you can see a touch of headwind catching the windsock, which likely contributed to Johnset coming up a bit short.
