Magnitude 3.0 earthquake jolts East Bay

SAN RAMON - A magnitude 3.0 quake jolted the Tri-Valley area late Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake hit around 10:11 p.m. about 2.6 miles southeast of San Ramon, 3.6 miles north of Dublin and 5.6 miles south-southeast of Danville, the USGS reported. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage. The quake was felt as far away as San Rafael, Alameda and Stockton, according to the USGS.

Magnitude 3.1 earthquake is latest to shake near San Ramon

In what has become a common occurrence recently, the ground shook again in San Ramon on Tuesday, this time before sunrise. The magnitude 3.1 quake rattled the Tri-Valley at 5:53 a.m. and was centered about 3.1 miles southeast of San Ramon. There were no initial reports of damages or injuries. The quake came only eight days after three earthquakes shook the area in the course of about 100 minutes.
