Prosecutors are seeking up to five years in prison for Tim Mapes, the former chief of staff to House Speaker Michael Madigan, for lying to a federal grand jury.
Mapes' attorneys are requesting probation and community service for him, arguing that he did not personally benefit from his alleged misstatements and maintains his innocence. [ more ]
