Exodus with Rob Dukes is a whole 'nother beast. "3111" marks the vocalist's return to the fold after last appearing on an album in 2010, and what a return it is. On a song that's about narco killings in Juarez, Dukes gives a sufficiently menacing performance that's startlingly unhinged. San Diego hardcore band Mizery made a lot of noise back in the mid 2010s, but they haven't released new music since their 2016 debut LP Absolute Light, and in 2023 they were forced to hit pause after the untimely passing of drummer Cayle Sain. Bass Magazine celebrated all things bass at their annual awards on Thursday night (1/23), which happened at The Observatory in Santa Ana. Les Claypool was one of the evening's honorees, and he performed with Primus, who had a few special guests on hand for the occasion. They brought out Green Day's Mike Dirnt and Tool's Justin Chancellor for "Too Many Puppies," Metallica's Robert Trujillo for "My Name is Mud," and Marcus Miller for "Tommy the Cat." Sepultura have been making their way through a very long farewell since 2024 and now they've announced a 2026 trek that they say will be their final North American tour. They'll be joined by a pretty incredible batch of bands for this, including thrash legends Exodus, metallic hardcore veterans Biohazard (who are fresh off making a big comeback with last year's great Divided We Fall), and new-school death-metallers Tribal Gaze.
Santana and The Doobie Brothers two legendary Bay Area acts are teaming up for a major co-headlining trek dubbed The Oneness Tour 2026. Santana and The Doobie Brothers will make two stops on this tour in Northern California. Santana and The Doobie Brothers perform Aug. 8 at Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland and Aug. 9 at Shoreline Amphitheatre at Mountain View.
