Lockly has introduced a series of smart locks that have native Matter compatibility, meaning that they will be able to be used across different smart home systems. The Affirm Series of smart locks will come in both deadbolt and latch editions. What's more, the locks will support several ways to allow access, including not only the usual numeric keypad, but NFC access, so they can be used with physical and digital NFC key cards.
This biometric smart lock features wireless optical charging technology, eliminating the need to replace or recharge batteries altogether. Called AuraCharge technology, the V7 Max receives power from an optical output device plugged in within four meters' distance to wirelessly recharge its internal battery. Power is sent from within the house using an eye-safe controlled light beam that reaches the lock's receiver, which is then converted into electricity to recharge and power the smart lock.

The Ultraloq Bolt NFC smart lock is receiving a free upgrade that enables near-field communication (NFC) tap-to-unlock with compatible Android phones. The model currently supports Apple's Home Key, which lets you tap-to-unlock with an iPhone. The update makes it one of the first locks to offer the functionality across both iOS and Android, without requiring the phone to be unlocked or specific apps to be running. The ability comes via a free software upgrade to the U Home app, available now in the Google Play Store.
