Shohei Ohtani and Kyle Tucker received Silver Slugger awards for the 2025 MLB season, highlighting their exceptional offensive performances.
Mookie Betts at shortstop and Miguel Rojas at utility were Gold Glove Award finalists, but lost out to of the Cardinals and Javier Sanoja of the Marlins. Winn was a fine choice at short, but not sure why Sanoja would get the nod over Rojas, as Rojas was better statistically and played more innings total as well as at the hardest position of shortstop. That said, you could argue under the same criteria that Tommy Edman deserved it over any of them.
Here's something you might not be aware of: the Red Sox absolutely own the third base Silver Slugger award. Of the 45 trophies given out at that position, 11 of them have gone to Red Sox third baseman. This has been thanks mostly to Wade Boggs, who won the award six times with the Sox. But Rafael Devers also won the award twice, with Adrian Beltre, Bill Mueller, and Carney Lansford all picking up the hardware, too.
Willy Adames became the first player in a Giants uniform to slug 30 home runs since Barry Bonds, and Rafael Devers anchored the lineup with a combined 35 homers between San Francisco and Boston, but neither player was the club's lone finalist for a Silver Slugger award. The honor belonged to Matt Chapman, who was passed over when Gold Glove finalists were announced earlier this month but is being recognized for his bat.
Kyle Schwarber, the designiated hitter for the Phillidephia Phillies, is one of the most powerful home run hitters that the league has to offer. Unfortunately for him, there is a practically zero percent chance that he brings home the Silver Slugger, considering he's matched up against one of the greatest players of all time, who's fresh off of a three homer preformance while striking out 10, Shohei Ohtani.
