The Redmi Note 15 series has arrived to markets outside China a month or so earlier than the usual 12-month cycle Xiaomi uses. Still, according to Xiaomi, we can expect generational upgrades in more than one aspect. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is the first phone in the series that we'll review. But before we begin, we want to make it clear that the Chinese Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is not the same as the international model we are reviewing today.

According to this source, the Poco M8 Pro will be identical to the upcoming Redmi Note 15 Pro+ in every way bar one. The key difference will be in the camera department, where, the tipster says, "Poco swaps the 200MP 4x optical zoom periscope telephoto camera for a 50MP main camera on the rear". That doesn't make a lot of sense - how can you replace a telephoto camera with a main camera?

Xiaomi confirmed its plans to launch the Redmi Note 15 Pro series later this week, with models set to debut on August 21 at 7 PM Beijing time.
