CVS is taking money that should be going to Mount Sinai and other hospitals serving low-income and uninsured patients under a federal program, according to a suit filed by Mount Sinai on Monday in Manhattan federal court. The money in question should be received by Mount Sinai through a federal program, known as 340B, to offset the cost of prescription drugs for patients who can't pay full price, its suit says. But CVS, which distributes those drugs, has directed over $121 million of the funds into its own coffers since 2020 in what Mount Sinai calls a secret pricing scheme, leaving the healthcare provider without critical support.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order in the Oval Office on Monday launching moms.gov, a website aimed at supporting expectant mothers with additional resources. During the event, Trump riffed about his moves to cap the price of prescription drugs and slammed the media over what he claimed was a refusal to cover the topic. The media, they don't want to write about it. Think of it. We're reducing drug prices by 50%, 60%, or 80%, or 75%. Anyway, it's all about the phrasing of the question. And the media doesn't write about it. It's amazing. It's so sad. It's biased.

LAWRENCE O'DONNELL: In the cabinet room today, the president, whose policies and decisions led to the murder in the streets of Minneapolis, hallucinated about phone conversations that never happened with leaders of foreign countries in which he told them that they will have to increase the price of prescription drugs in their countries so that the price of prescription drugs in the United States can come down. That formulation is obviously insane on its face.
