It is different than Jack, because I am right here dealing with Jack every day, but I have so much respect for Auston, his game, and the person that he is. To see him have that moment and have that success... talk about leaders who find their way through. He was the captain of the team, and I thought he had a solid, tremendous tournament.
It's an encouraging update that the Heat have been waiting to hear for far too long. But even though the Heat would've liked to get this news weeks ago, the return of Herro now will certainly give this team a real shot to hit the ground running heading into the final push for the playoffs. While many fans may disagree with the approach, the Heat are pushing for a playoff spot.
Darche is sending a message to the Islanders "The players have put themselves in the position to be in the playoffs, and I wanted to reward them and bring in a bit more experience and cement that spot in the playoffs," Darche said earlier today on Frankly Hockey with Frank Seravalli and John Buccigross. "We wanted to improve a little bit defensively if I'm being honest."
But only one in recent years had accrued the moral authority to lay on the line what he believed everybody - East Side, West Side, all sides - needed to be doing pronto: "Mets fans, we need you guys to fill this place up. This place needs to be rockin' Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, we need your help. We need everybody to get out here, we need this place full. This is playoff baseball, this is what you guys want. Let's go! Let's Go Mets!"
The Miami Dolphins operated with the delusion, as outside linebacker Bradley Chubb called it, that they could take down the Buffalo Bills and spark a run. The delusion proved accurate with a convincing win in which the defense held down quarterback Josh Allen's high-powered Bills offense, and playmakers De'Von Achane and Jaylen Waddle proved why the Dolphins coveted them so highly at the trade deadline.
Despite some big ups and downs, the Falcons are 2-2 heading into their Week 5 bye after a challenging opening month of the season. Kevin Knight and Adnan Ikic are joined by Joe Patrick to discuss Atlanta's victory over the Commanders in Week 4, why 2-2 is a good start for the team, and how the Falcons can use the bye to get healthy for a playoff push in 2025.
Connelly Early will take the mound for the Sox tonight in his second career start, and in many aspects, it will look a heck of a lot like his first outing. He's facing the A's, again. He's pitching on a Tuesday, again - And his counterpart will be former Sox southpaw Jeffrey Springs, again. (There's definitely some sort of joke to be made here with the pitchers being "Early" and "Springs" and the matchup being Groundhog Day from last week.)
No, ahead of a week-long road trip and amid a playoff race, the San Francisco Giants are calling up their top prospect power-hitting first baseman Bryce Eldridge and they're doing it for the purest of reasons: They think he can be the difference. And it's the right button to push at exactly the right time for Giants director of baseball operations and eager button-pusher Buster Posey.
