So what does this mean for the Marlins? Quite likely...very little. Fish on First was quick to frame the major upshot of this announcement as being little more than complicating matters for teams interested in luring Kapler out of Miami, and that does hit the nail on the head. Title bumps really do matter in front office hirings, as silly as it might sound on the surface.
