Dodgers ace Julio Urias has been one of the best pitchers in baseball over the last few seasons, and he's finally getting the recognition he's so long deserved.Today, it was announced that Urias was officially named as a finalist for the National League Cy Young Award.In 2022, the left-hander ranked first in the National League with a 2.16 ERA and second with 17 wins.

As the Winter Meetings got into full gear on Monday, it was also the day to recognize the ALL-MLB teams for 2022.And while the first team was compiled of Sandy Alcantara and four AL pitchers, Max Fried made the ALL-MLB second team after finishing second in the NL Cy Young Voting.It was more deserved recognition for Fried after his best year to date.

The Marlins have room to improve in several areas entering 2023, one of those being high-leverage relief.This season, their bullpen ranked second-worst among MLB teams in win probability added, per FanGraphs.Omit the contributions of Anthony Bass, who was traded to the Blue Jays in August, and they would've been dead last in that department.

There were not many consistent pieces on this 2022 Miami Marlins team.Injuries, questionable coaching decisions, and cold lineups plagued the Marlins throughout the year.But there was one thing fans could count on: every five days, Sandy Alcantara was going to throw a gem.Alcantara's 2.28 ERA was the lowest for a qualified Marlins starting pitcher in a single season since Josh Johnson's 2.30 ERA in 2010.

It's official!Miami Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara won the NL Cy Young award.I wrote why he should've won before and nothing changed since then.He was clearly the best starting pitcher in the game in 2022, though the Cy Young award only gives him the NL crown.Sandy is going to be a big part of our push to make the playoffs next season.
