Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, have written a joint letter to President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, urging the EU to propose measures against Israel for breaching its association agreement.
Varadkar claims Israel is 'blinded by rage' in its actions in Gaza and calls for an urgent review of Israel's compliance with its human rights obligations under the EU/Israel Association Agreement.
The letter stresses the need for a ceasefire and the protection of civilians in Gaza, as well as the importance of continued humanitarian assistance from organizations like UNWRA.
