New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani has repeatedly said he would order the arrest of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he visits the city for the United Nations General Assembly in September a move that would place the order in the hands of New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch. Under the mayor's authority, Tisch would be responsible for directing the New York Police Department to carry out such an arrest if it were ordered.
