The 2026 Tiny Desk Contest, NPR's annual search for the next great undiscovered artist, is now officially open for entries! From now until Feb. 9 at 11:59 p.m. ET, unsigned artists can submit on the Tiny Desk Contest website. The winner will play a Tiny Desk concert at NPR headquarters in Washington, D.C., be paired with a music industry mentor, headline a 10-city tour and more.

HOUSTON, Texas -- Alyssa Villarreal is making her mark in the world of Norteño music, a genre that is typically male-dominated.

Ovechkin is no stranger to the music industry. He's famously an enthusiast of the EDM and rap genres, even earning a name drop by Drake in Future's 2022 track, "I'm On One." He rapped himself in Sasha Belyi's Champion back in 2012. Ovechkin even looked like a natural as a rock star, headlining a fake band the Capitals came up with to kick off the "Rock the Red" era in 2008.

"These were weeks and hours of conversations we had with people that were trimmed down to minutes for people to watch at home."
