Slowly but surely, Monster Hunter Stories has established itself as more than just a spin-off of Capcom's famed action role-playing game. It has gone from a small project on the Nintendo 3DS to an ambitious Japanese RPG on the Nintendo Switch that punched above its weight. Now in its third iteration, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is the franchise's coming-out party. The entry is launching across multiple systems for the first time, and it's taking a different approach to the story.
Preordering any version of Monster Hunter 3: Twisted Reflection gets you Skyscale Queen Layered Armor for the playable character Eleanor. The armor is based on the iconic Rathalos set that fans of the mainline Monster Hunter games will recognize. Layered armor is purely cosmetic--it doesn't confer any stat bonuses or abilities, unlike other gear in the game, but it will at least let you represent one of the series' flagship creatures regardless of the other gear you're wearing.
We recently went to Capcom to get hands-on for the first time with Monster Hunter Stories 3: twisted reflection. it's an early mission where you play as a ranger, forming bonds with your monsties, getting to grips with traversal, and of course, taking a stab at some turn based combat.
