There is a lot on the line in the first Milan derby of the season, but that in itself is something that should be celebrated. La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) speaks about the essence of tonight's derby with a simple phrase: whoever wins takes the city. Inter can extend their lead to five points over Milan, the Rossoneri can overtake them by a point. But there's much more at stake than the Navigli.
Rafael Leao will play an important role for AC Milan in tomorrow's derby against Inter, as despite being young, he's the most experienced derby man on the team. Today's edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see the features image) has focused on the battle of the No.10s, namely Lautaro Martinez for Inter and Rafael Leao for Milan. The latter has featured in an impressive 20 derbies so far, making tomorrow's clash his 21st.
The Milan derby will be a bit less colourful in the stands on Sunday night, as neither Curva are expected to unveil a tifo. As La Repubblica report, the Curva Nord and Curva Sud will be present for the game, but there will not be the usual displays. Neither group will perform any kind of choreography or reveal a tifo like usual, but there will still be chants and songs.
