Woman left behind by cruise ship dies on remote tropical island

Earlier in day, the vessel docked at Lizard Island, a resort destination with a nature preserve some 20 miles off the Queensland coast. The woman was hiking Cook's Look peak there with other passengers, authorities said, but at some point separated from the group to take a break. She ultimately failed to board the ship, and the cruise liner set off at around sunset as scheduled, the Australian Broadcasting Company reported.

France probes oil tanker linked to Denmark drone flights

French authorities said they are investigating the oil tanker Boracay anchored off the country's Atlantic Coast and suspected of being part of Russia's clandestine "shadow fleet". The Benin-flagged vessel, built in 2007 and also known as Pushpa, has been anchored off Saint-Nazaire in western France for several days. Moscow is accused of using its clandestine "shadow fleet" of ageing oil tankers to dodge sanctions imposed by Western allies over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
