JPMorgan promoted 135 employees to managing director, highlighting their achievements in global banking and markets.
The Wall Street bank on Wednesday announced the appointment of 184 new managing directors - a roughly 6% increase from last year's class of 173 MDs. At Morgan Stanley, managing director is the firm's highest designation. The announcement comes amid the annual promotion season on Wall Street and follows Goldman Sachs' November elevation of more than 600 managing directors, part of a biennial process at the rival firm.
Citi has a new group of senior leaders joining its highest ranks. On Wednesday, the bank announced 276 managing directors, elevating the class of leaders to its highest rank below the C-suite. This year's class includes 55 promotions in markets, 45 in banking, 40 in wealth, and 33 in services, the bank's unit that helps clients manage and move money globally.
