Former Miami-Dade School Board member Lubby Navarro pleaded not guilty to charges of misusing $100,000 of taxpayer dollars.

Navarro is facing two counts of organized scheme to defraud and two counts of grand theft, which could result in up to 55 years in prison. [ more ]

Lead state prosecutor Annette Rasco asked for more time to interview the people who issued Navarro's bond, and the judge agreed to postpone a decision until Feb. 9. [ more ]

Former Miami-Dade County School Board member, Lubby Navarro, is under investigation by a Broward hospital chain where she worked while on unpaid leave after her arrest on corruption charges.

Navarro also held a job as executive director at the nonprofit Jorge Mas Canosa Freedom Foundation, and a witness claimed to have found 'missing checks' from the foundation inside Navarro's townhouse. [ more ]
