Trading my sweatpants-and-Birkenstocks uniform for dresses and beach coverups, I arrived with my husband at the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay in Kauai, Hawaii on the day I hit 27 weeks and stayed through the transition into the last leg of pregnancy, leaving when I was 28 weeks along. At only 3 years old, a beachside food truck serving fresh-caught fish tacos in Kauai's Kapaa town has made quite a name for itself: It garnered the top spot in Yelp's list of the top 100 food trucks in 2025. Nestled among a group of food trucks near Kapaa Beach, Tony's Catch has a 4.9-star rating from just over 300 Yelp reviews. It had stiff competition: 24 other food trucks from Hawaii were featured on the list, and 22 were from California.

Keith Robinson, along with his younger brother, Bruce, and their family plantation Gay and Robinson, own 55,000 acres of Kauai and, 17 miles west, the entire 45,000-acre private island of Niihau, which their family purchased from the Hawaiian monarchy in the mid-1800s. This is more land than Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison, who purchased the entirety of Lanai for $300 million in 2012, and 40 times more than Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who's established his own 2,300-acre, $330 million outpost on the opposite side of Kauai.
